Nick leads Arup Melbourne’s arts and culture, sports and health portfolios. Nick is a multidisciplinary design engineer and senior Project Director with wide ranging experience across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and Europe. Nick’s focus is around buildings and spaces with people at their heart - including workplace, education, property, arts, sport, health, and civic spaces. Passionate about good design, he is skilled in bringing diverse teams together to deliver integrated design, drawing on experience from over 20 years in commercial building design and delivery. Having declared a climate emergency, Nick is committed to making every one of our projects more sustainable. A mechanical engineer by training, his background is in design of building services systems, passive building design and building energy performance.

Nick has intimate experience leading large teams at an operational level, having led Arup’s 65 person strong building services team over many years. Nick has been a member of the Buildings team senior leadership since 2016, with oversight of people, commercials, strategy and implementation.

Nick served on the AIRAH Victoria committee for seven years and President for two, providing communication, advocacy and education within the HVAC industry. He currently sits on the PCA Social Infrastructure committee, where he enjoys contributing to shaping the future direction of this important sector.
